Sport England Sports Match Award

Merrick Platts would like any club member interested in raising funds for club teams or the community, to contact him in the first instance to allow him to act as the central coordinator, and submit one application for all eligible sponsors on behalf of the club.

Sport Englands Sports Match Awards , the scheme is open to new applicants and able to match any sponsorship monies or internal fundraising.

Sponsorship is ranked in the following priority order:

1. A first time commercial sponsor of grassroots sport.
2. An existing commercial sponsor increasing their funding from a previous level and therefore investing additional money.
3. An existing commercial sponsor new to your organisation.
4. An existing commercial sponsor not increasing their previous sponsorship levels but under a new sponsorship agreement for new work, or sponsorship from charities/charitable trusts, or private individuals.
5. Sportsmatch can match up to five eligible sponsors, each of which must contribute a minimum of £1,000.

Be advised, if you are successful the award must be spent by 31 March 2012.
