Despite early chances in this vital game, Rangers paid the penalty by failing to consolidate on the first half superiority by missing so many opportunities. The story is familiar of the games they have lost by the odd goal and is of concern if they are to get back on track in their promotion push. The Rangers forwards peppered the hosts goal but their lack of accuracy meant that the home side were able to come back into the game. Jos Williams showed early signs of his early season form and was rewarded with a well taken goal 10 minutes before the break. Caterpillar showed why they are competing for honours by dogged resilience and began to gain the upper hand at the end of the first half.

After the break both teams started lively both coming close. However in the 63 minute a questionable decision by the referee saw a penalty being awarded to the home side which was duly converted from the spot. This seemed to energise Caterpillar who were beginning to dominate much of the play and it was no surprise went they went head with a well taken goal from close range. Rangers came more into the game in the latter 10 minutes but despite their efforts they failed to find the Caterpillar net.

A very disappointed Hemmings could not hide his frustration at the result which now puts promotion in doubt unless other teams slip up. " We are just not believing in ourselves" says Hemmings. The team were capable of winning the league but are just not putting away the chances they have created" says Hemmings. Rangers were disappointing in the second half whilst they were ahead for failing to put away easy chances.. On the positive side the players must now show their metal for the remaining games if we are to have an outside chance of promotion.
